Charging in Arkansas

Arkansas has two centers of charging rather than one. Little Rock and North Little Rock together hold a solid cluster, and Bentonville in the northwest matches Little Rock on its own, with Fayetteville, Springdale and Rogers filling in around it.

Between and beyond those two areas it gets sparse, and Fort Smith and Pine Bluff barely register. Only about one port in seven is DC fast, a low share, so most of what you will find is Level 2 meant for longer stops. ChargePoint, Tesla and Blink Charging lead on locations, with EVGateway and EV Connect also present across the state.

On the road

I-40 crosses the state west to east through Fort Smith, Conway, Little Rock and on toward Memphis, and it links most of the towns with charging. I-30 runs southwest out of Little Rock, and I-49 links the northwest cities. Between those routes the Ozarks and the Ouachitas mean long climbs with few stations, so cross them on a full battery.

Public posts have the cable attached, so carry an adapter for the other fast standard and a mobile connector for hotels that only offer an outlet.

Three things to know

Fort Smith has almost nothing listed, so charge in Fayetteville or Conway before crossing the western edge.
Ozark and Ouachita climbs eat range quickly, so plan mountain legs with a wide margin.
Fast charging is scarce, so build overnight Level 2 stops into any multi-day Arkansas route.
